EURL - campylobacter

Welcome to the website of the European Union Reference Laboratory for Campylobacter (previously namned Community Reference Laboratory, CRL-Campylobacter). On this website you will find information about the activities of the EU Reference Laboratory (EURL) for Campylobacter, conducted on behalf of the European Commission. 

The EURL- Campylobacter site is primarily meant to provide information to the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in the European Member States, but could also be of interest for other laboratories that perform Campylobacter analyses.

Basic EU Legislation

The EURL-Campylobacter was established in accordance with the following EU legislation:

  • Directive 2003/99/EC of 17 November 2003 on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents, amending Council Decision 90/424/EEC and repealing Council Directive 97/117/EEC.
  • Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and welfare rules.
  • Regulation (EC) No 776/2006 of 23 May 2006 amending Annex VII to Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 as regards a list of EU Reference Laboratories.
